Franck Ribéry


Profile Football Stars | Franck Ribéry | The previous talisman of French national team, Zinedine Zidane, has called Ribéry the "jewel of French football".  Ribéry's career began in 1989 as a youth player for Conti local hometown club Boulogne. In 1999, Ribéry joined U.S. Boulogne, where he played for two years. Ribéry spent two seasons at the club Helping the Marseillais reach the final of the Coupe de France in back-to-back seasons. In 2007, Ribéry joined German club Bayern Munich for a then club-record fee of € 25 million.  Ribery is a French international. At senior level, Ribéry has represented his nation two FIFA World Cups and UEFA Euro 2008.  Ribéry's younger brother François is also a football player, and has played for clubs in France Numerous amateur.

In his second season with the club, Ribéry Appeared in 25 league matches converting five goals. In his only season at the club, Ribéry made 18 appearances scoring only one goal. A week later, Ribéry team assisted on both goals in a shutout win over Schalke. On 3 December, Ribéry scored another set of goals in a 4-1 win against Werder Bremen. Ribéry Appeared in all three group stage matches. Following the team's opening match against Uruguay, Ribéry was Criticized for his performance by former international Just Fontaine with the former striker questioning Ribéry's leadership ability. In the team's final group stage match against the hosts South Africa, Ribéry assisted on the team's only goal of the competition scored by Florent Malouda. Ribéry did not attend the hearing due to his parent club's objection.   On the negative front, Ribéry has Often struggled with injury issues.
